Eachanari Vinayagar Temple, Religious Places in Coimbatore

Located at a mere distance of about 10 Km from the city of Coimbatore, Eachanari Vinayagar Temple is one of the main attractions of the city. The temple is dedicated to the Lord Vinayaga, who is known as the first and foremost deity in Hindu mythology. It is one of the most famous Vinayaga temple of entire state of Tamil Nadu. Various tourists and locals visit the temple on a regular basis to seek the blessings of Ganesha.

The temple has an interesting event associated with it. The Moolavar situated in this temple was initially built for the installation at Perur in Arulmighu Patteswarar Temple, however, as the cart carrying the same was struck down here, it became the blessed place of Lord Vinayara and is called “Eachanari Vinayagar”. The temple is quiet ancient and was built around 500 years back. However, the recent renovation of the temple was done in 1977 only.

The temple offer pooja facility at its premises from 5:00 AM till 10:00 PM everyday. The temple run various schemes to benefit many people on a daily basis. For example, Annadhana Scheme provides food to needy people on a daily basis.

This is a special kind of pooja and is done in the name of sevarthigal, who wants to conduct this Pooja. The temple also offers free marriage services for socially backward people at the temple premises. It also offer Ashram facility to 25 needy people and offer them a place to stay and study along with clothes and other required amenities.

The temple offers a calm and serene atmosphere to all of its visitors. Cleanliness of the temple is praised by everyone, who visits this majestic place. People from Madurai, Dindigul, Pollachi and Coimbatore visit the temple on a regular basis to receive the blessings of lord Vinayagara.

Architectur of the temple is marvelous and it contains murals of the rashis on the roof infront of the pillayar idols. People are mesmerized by the height of the main idol of the temple as the same is 6 feet tall and 3 feet broad.
