Technical Fairs in Coimbatore

Since its inception, Coimbatore has a good number of industries. Hence, apart from the usual family fairs, exhibitions and art galleries there are a number of technical fairs that forms the primary part of fairs of Coimbatore. The city is highly benefited through the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) trade fair complex that is present near South Indian Technical Research Association (SITRA). CODISSIA is a non-profit organization that is developed during 1969 and was primarily established in order to aid the growth and upliftment of small scale industries. Members of CODISSIA visited a number of trade fairs outside Tamil Nadu and occasionally outside India to have an idea about organizing a technical trade fair. The first technical fair of CODISSIA was conducted in 1982 on Entrepreneurs development exhibition. A fair deal of success was dealt in with the exhibition that was instrumental in the establishment of about 450 different small industries in Coimbatore district alone.
