Established in 1957, Coimbatore District Cricket Association is considered to be the main premises for many cricket players to exhibit their talents in the grounds. This association was created by few eminent people such as G.R. Damodaran, K. Srinivasan, G.K. Sundaram, R. Krishnaswamy, G.R. Govindarajulu and D. Lakshminarayanaswamy. Further, Coimbatore District Association appointed G.K. Prasad as the secretary of the association and he has helped to strengthen the foundation to a great extent.
